SINGING

i

Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
Over the hills we go
Laughing all the way.
Bells on Bobtails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.

Fun facts

“Jingle Bells” is one of the most famous winter songs in the world.
It was written between 1850 and 1857 by James Pierpont, an American composer.
The song was first called “The One Horse Open Sleigh.”
Later, in 1859, it was renamed “Jingle Bells.”

Even though we sing it at Christmas, it’s not really a Christmas song —
it’s about riding and racing in a sleigh pulled by a horse!
