Prolongation signs are symbols that make notes last longer. There are three: the dot, the tie, and the fermata.

Signs of prolongation

The dot is the point placed to the right of the note, and it ADDS half of its duration.”

The tie ADDS the values of the notes. It is a curved line that connects two notes with the same name and sound

The fermata is the sign placed above or below a note, and it makes the note last as long as the performer wants.

🎸 The Beatles were a famous rock band from England 🇬🇧 in the 1960s.
👨‍🎤 The group had John, Paul, George, and Ringo.
🎹 They played guitar, bass, and drums, and all of them sang 🎤.

🎵 At first, their music was simple rock and roll.
✨ Later, they tried many styles, like pop songs 💖 and psychedelic rock 🌈.

🌍 They became very popular all over the world.
🙌 People called this “Beatlemania.”

💡 Their songs and ideas changed music, culture, and young people in the 1960s.
